When I'm starting to date with someone for the first couple of weeks I'm ashamed to eat in front of this person. Don't know what to do with it cos sometimes people ask me on a date to the restaurant.
Should I avoid it someway?

What do you think you'll be judged on by the way?  Did you get a lot of criticism as a **** around the **** table?

I'm a bit like that too.  I tend to eat very slowly in company, and then they're finished so i think i should stop too, rather than keep them waiting too long

I think that rather than avoiding it, you should try to do it more often, and then it becomes more 'normal' and less of an awkwardness.  Good luck and bon appetit

Have to ask why you should be ashamed?

Are you a noisy eater?
Do you let food dribble out of your mouth?
Do you use a straw for the gravy?
Do you **** the plate when you have finished?
Do you use vast amounts of ketchup to stick lots of peas to your fork?

If not, then it would seem that you have passable table manners ... now sit up straight when you're **** and FFS lift the fork up to your mouth rather than dipping your face into the plate.

everybody gets a ****  embarrist sometimes,,,all on differant things..[ we all want to show our best ]
on a new date... ...........your dates always a **** more on edge as well.

just remember,, hes  nervous too..........and he could be thinking alot of what hes doing...not watching you
We all eat every day...    dont talk as you eat   ,, order things you like and are easy to eat.. any mistakes make a joke of it
sometimes it can lighten up some quieter momments..
If you seem worried about it ,,it  may not worry him at all,,
Its not good to go into the meal with any negative thoughts....

As a last resort,,either  ..Just make the first date a drink out................[ but i feel you blend together best dureing a meal ]
start out with a chat and a drink in a pub/club then,,move on to the meal
Last thing is..if he likes you,,you like him.......nothing else matters....[ you lack a **** confidence and are way better than you think..]

You haven't explained what you're embarrassed about, so it's difficult to advise you. I agree with DD that maybe you should go out to eat more in order to make it more of a natural activity, and if it's an issue about being messy, choose a restaurant where you can use a knife and fork without it looking odd.

You mite think this is so silly but I'm afraid of **** in front of you, u could even make a game out of it tell him to cover he's eyes while u take that first bite n tell him U luv games you mite be surprised and have him squirming in he's chair thinking about the fun you two will have latter.

so why are u ashamed?

guys like a girl with a good appetite rather than one that eats like a sparow. but why not suggest doing different things for the first few weeks till your more comfortable in there company

go bowling or do other random fun stuff, if u click and laugh together going to a restaurant will eventually be no bother
